Thanks go out to Rita & Scott for the delivery of. Comfort Quilt to Ken.  He is struggling with cancer and loved the quilt.  Praying it brings him warm fuzzies and comfort while he journeys through the last stages of his life here on earth.  His wife was tearful and thanked them for thinkng of Ken.  May she receive some comfort as well after he passes with warm thoughts her loving husband.

postheadericon Jared Springer

"Thank you for the awesome quilt for Jared.  As soon as he is in recovery, he can sleep with it.  The surfboards are perfect!  We appreciate your time and care."

CQ has been busy this month delivering quilts!  Another recent recipient, 17 year old Jared Springer, from Santa Barbara had received his quilt.

CQ continues to keep Jared, along with all of quilt recipients in our thoughts and prayers.  Jared experienced an unknown brain injury and is currently on Day 20 of his journey to recovery.  He remains in a partial coma and his steps to recovery are slow.

So glad he is able to enjoy his quilt!

postheadericon Reba

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Reba's family as they mourn the loss of their dear mother, grandmother & spouse.  Reba received a comfort quilt from our group early in the year, and our group hopes that while it brought comfort to Reba during her struggle, may it bring a bit of comfort for those left behind.

You will be missed.

postheadericon In Memory of Tammy Giles

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Tammy Giles this week.  May her quilt give her family comfort as they struggle with the loss of a wife and mother.  She was the first recipient of a quilt many years ago and it is a comfort to know she received many years of warmth from her quilt.

postheadericon Cards

CQ has to be the luckiest quilt group around!  We have our own pertsinsl card designer!  Rita has been with our group for a couple of years now sling with get hubby, Scott, who joins us each month to quilt!  Not very often you get a catch like that, and we love them both to pieces!  Rita created all of the cards that accompanied our Sandy Hook quilts.  She designed the sweet angel that was used on our blocks and since that time, we've kept her well employed!    I'll be creating a folder of all of her lovely cards she has created for us, do xheck back often as it will be a job getting them all collected!

The three cards below recently accompanied two quilts ygat want out this weekend.  What a thrill to have her!  Thank you Rita!

postheadericon Kathleen's Zentangle Art

Today's blog is about a classmate of mine who has embarked on a new adventure.  I've know Kathleen since kindergarten and we were fortunate enough to hook up on Facebook and reacquaint ourselves.

Her artwork using the Zentangle method is truly stunning.  I encourage anyone who has a yen to see the creativity of her original art to visit her website regulary.  Everytime I visit, I find another piece I simply must have.  A sample of one of her many pieces is shown here.  She sells her art in note cards and portraits in any size and she welcomes your input if you need a custom work.  Click her link and view her amazing talent.  A true artist with a passion for creating beauty in all that she sees.

postheadericon Quilts of Valor

There are many Angels among us, we just don't see their wings!  I wanted to share with you another woman I met through a Facebook Group called "Just Us Quilters".

This woman has single handedly started a fire storm of activity for the group members to send her 9 patch quilt blocks for the Quilts of Valor (QOV) campaign.  I simply had to share her amazing block.  I plan on sending her a few and if any of you quilters have a yen to do the same, look her up and read her instructions at "Just Us Quilters".  What an awesome and monumental project!

Her instructions on making these blocks can be found here:

http://wequilttogether.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-disappearing-nine-patch-star.html?m=1

This is what you send her:

And this is her disappearing 9 patch star she creates with the block you send her.

Full pictorial of how she does this are in her blog.

Check her project out as always..,

God Bless America and those who serve yo protect and keep her strong!
