Look at those ladies (and Scott) go!!  We have begun the work of quilting the blocks!  The cutting of the squares is near completion as well.  There are only 1,500 left to go!  Considering there were over 7,000 to begin with, our cutters are GREAT!!!

Now this lady, Rita, is our card artist.  She has made individual cards to accompany each quilt as we prepare to wrap them.  She finished them up this past work day and they are absolutely amazing.  You can tell by that smile on her face, that she is joyful this little task is complete as well!  Thank you Rita!  Many hours of thought and preparation have gone into these cards.  They will be on display each work day, so be sure to take a look at them!

It's GREAT to have such a motivated group!  Our team walked in the door, did the usual ritual - coffee, muffin, gossip - and went straight to work!  Everyone just knows what needs to be done and steps right in and to get it done!  Look at this!  I got to cut this time!   What a blast!  The fires are out, the problem solved and we are well on our way to getting these quilts complete.  So exciting!!!

Must have Coffee!

Stitching those little tiny squares

No time to smile for the camera!  We've got work to do!

This is the "Squaring" Police!  What a gal!  Special Throne just for her!

postheadericon Our First 2013 Quilt

Our first quilt of the year is complete and will be put in the mail to a sweet little angel, Brooke Healey, who resides in New York.  We hope she enjoys her quilt and that it will keep her warm and secure as she undergoes her radiation treatments for a brain tumor.  Please keep her in your prayers.  She is an adorable 4 year old just beginning to explore this world.

postheadericon Work Day!

Great work day on the 2nd of February! It didn't look organized, but everyone knew what needed to be done and jumped in with both feet to accomplish the task at hand! I just LOVE self-motivators.

Thanks go out to all who attended and helped get us closer to meeting our goal. You are ALL WORK HORSES!

Remember, our next work day is scheduled for the 16th of February. It will mark the end of our Valentine's Day promotion, but we will gratefully accept your $14 donation anytime. We have had such an outpouring of assistance and I want to let you know we are well on our way to getting these books made!

As you can see from the photos, we have quite a crew, and with the living help of our newly appointed squaring police, Kathy, we have our first block made!

We still need your help! Don't sew? No problem! We have ironing, fabric sorting and all types id non-sewing activities for you! Come and share the healing and love that only a quilt can offer.

See you on the 16th! RSVP to comfortingquilters@gmail.com.
